This piece began with me abstractly drawing an alligator jumping out of the water to snap at a meat trap a hunter had set up in a tree. A photograph I came across while surfing the internet was the reference for the development of this drawing. I liked the raw aggression and instinctual energy of the photo and tried to capture that wildness and exoticism in my artwork through the use of contrasting color and energetic movement.
